…reminds me of a night once when I was hitch hiking and this old Ford Falcon stops and it was packed to the max with eight or nine black ladies going to a juke in Marion County,a juke-my friends-is a honky tonk,or to upper class citizens…a juke izza bar-except just a tad of difference because they are sometimes located in some of the most out of the places….way in the woods!
Any how…those gals took me there (did not have to twist my arm-no) and at most jukes the proprieter usually opens up something ‘private’ from a mason jar hidden behind the bar,and that night he saw my white face in with all them black ladies and I think he got a tad upset-he kept giving me shooters of that good old Florida back woods corn brew and before you know it-I’m coming to in another juke thirty miles south.
I ain’t never had a drier mouth in my life than that following day-hitch hiking home like I was the day before I met the ladies in the Falcon-except I was about sixty miles from where I started from-broke,in the hot Florida sunshine,and….hung damned over bigger than ten guys at once! The song reminded me of that ride!
